DAY ONE INTERNET TESTIMONIALS
HURRICANES, WELLNESS, & BEST LAID PLANS

So far so good. Here is what the BodySciencer's have to say about their first day at the life- changing retreat at The Boardwalk. Thanks to those that sent in their questions and inspiring messages. This is VERY hard and not easy in any way, so we all appreciate your thoughts! Making the smallest change can be so hard and powerful, and the rewards last a lifetime. The trip from the airport to the condos was eventful. It was nice and sunny and they got to shop a Whole Foods Market for the first time. Those stores are like heaven for a trainer. They took in the scenery until I pulled over to the side of the road, parked, instructed them to get out of the car, grab their luggage, and walk the rest of the distance to the condos. While it wasn't long, it was humid and with the suitcases, quite the challenge for over a mile. We then did a beach boot camp intensity workout with elements of teamwork. I can see changes in just under one day already and there will be more to come. Keep the questions coming and we will keep you updated on this crazy weather and the event...Stay strong, Kevin

HERE IS THE DIRT FROM THE BEACH:

The retreat kicked off with a bang! Kevin dropped us off luggage and all and made us find our own way back to the condo. The walk was challenging but fun. It gave Jess Alt & I a chance to get to know each other before the real hell began. After our tour and some phone calls warning us of the weather alerts we took off outside for an intense beachside workout. It's really easy to motivate me with an ocean in front of me. So far it's been fun and the food is great. Laney, thanks for the thoughts, wish you were here.--JG

Well the weather is awesome...hopefully the storm stays out of our way! The retreat so far has been very eventfull and team work was very eveident when we were forced to fill a bucket full of water by only using water from the wash clothes. I am excited for the retreat to kick off tomorrow and I have learned thus far that sugar is indeed the DEVIL!!!!! ~ JA

DAY TWO INTERNET TESTIMONIALS
FITNESS CAN BE FUN IF YOU DON'T OVER THINK IT.

Day Two began at dawn with a beach boot camp right in the wind coming off the gulf from the tropical storm. We really got lucky as the storm decided to take a turn east and bypass this area for the most part. We have had some strong winds, but no rain. Today was a bit dreary, but even dreary on the beach is acceptable. The participants got whipped today, both by me and by the surf in the ocean. We are talking waves probably 5 feet high. Staying in the ocean with the rough water was a workout all on it's own. Literally, your swimsuit could've been ripped off at any given moment. We did a groundbreaking nutritional label workshop today complete with a trip to the grocery store to analyze the good, the bad, and the ugly. I think I saw several light bulbs go off and there were many surprising things to know. We found a broccoli and cheese soup that had over 100% your daily intake of saturated fat!!! Crazy. The mea ls have been very good, averaging about 1400 calories. It's hard to pinpoint what has been the hardest thing for the BodySciencers so far, but I think it's all been eye-opening. I'll let them answer that for you. The participants are going to be ultra sore tomorrow, especially since we are working out again bright and early with a Full Body Fitness Challenge on the inter coastal waterway. We are about to begin our emotional roadblocks seminar, so keep the questions coming and we will keep you updated on this crazy weather and the event...Stay strong, Kevin

HERE IS THE DIRT FROM THE BEACH:

Well today has been a pretty crazy day and by no means has anything been easy. I am very sore today and feel like an old women. Today's morning workout was difficult and my muscles ached, but in the end it will all be worth it. Today at the grocery store I was very surprised at some of the food labels and I feel like a light bulb has gone off and I know that food is not the enemy and that it is very important to eat every 2-3 hours. The weather has been dreary, but it is Florida, so it is okay and I am looking forward to some sun tomorrow! In my opinion everything has been a challenge and very well worth the pain!!!! Well I hope all is well in Ohio - JA

Today started off with an early wake up call at 6:30 followed by an 80 min workout. Even though It's all challenging, I think the hardest part has been the bucket workout. Jess and I had to fill up a bucket from the ocean using only dish towels. It doesn't sound very hard but it mentally and physically drained me. The water is warm with very high waves that I enjoyed jumping in while watching out for Jaws! Thanks for the Pic of Ava, I miss her! We tried to post it in this email but the file was too large. Thanks for all the support from Ohio. We miss you guys...But we love the ocean!!!!-JG

P.S.--Bec, Kev was swimming in the ocean, jumping in the waves (like a child) SHIRTLESS!!!!!

DAY THREE INTERNET TESTIMONIALS
A BIT OF RELIEF THAT DIDN'T LAST LONG.

So we are at the midway point of our groundbreaking retreat. Day Three started off at 7 AM with my signature power shake to give the participants a energy boost. Yesterday we did a cardio- based workout on empty stomachs. Today's workouts were scheduled to be much harder, so they needed the energy. The Full Body Fitness Challenge on the intercoastal waterway was amazing. The walk was a survival course through rough beach terrain through some rain mixed with sun. Once we trekked down to the intercoastal waterway, the sun came out and the real work began. Participants performed this brutal workout while watching a family of dolphins play not 10 feet away. We were the only ones around for miles, and this section cannot be accessed by car, you have to walk. Sun and rain continued throughout the morning, and then the sun came out full throttle. There was plenty of free time for them to enjoy and relax at the pool and at the beach. Participants then got a massage to soothe those achy bodies. Our massage therapist, Sheila was very knowledgeable and really took care of us. Thanks to her for a job well done. Tonight I took the night off in the meal prep arena and let the BodySciencers prepare fresh tilapia with summer salsa. I don't eat or know about fish myself, so this was a learning experience for me. I need to show them that even I can grow and accept change, so I gave it a shot. It was very good. Thanks to Jessi G. for the recipe and the prep. We had a drop in visitor tonight from Fort Meyers , Matt J, who came for dinner and HEAT, my ultra intense plyometric class. Poor Matt, I hope he is able to drive home. This may have been one of the hardest workouts yet, but I have to say, they handled it great. They were worked to complete fatigue and pressed through. Its always amazing at these events to see how participants can see their bodies changing and getting stronger. They have broken their sugar addictions, throw n out bad habits and learned how to dig in and lead healthier lives. They will walk away from this experience different people. All the hard work is paying off.
Stay strong, Kevin

Hi Kevin-
Sounds like things are going really well. I am very proud of you and your hard work to put things together and being understanding of everyones life changes. I had a question for your challengers.... I wanted to know what they learned about food, eating and what to buy at the food store? Hope the weather continues to workout for you.
love you,
Janelle Engle Bowling Green, Ohio

P.S. I can't wait to see pictures of your shirtless so we can put them in the brochure for next time. haha

HERE IS THE DIRT FROM THE BEACH:

I used to work out before moving to Florida in April. When I moved I was busy with getting adjusted and moved into the area. Today was the first day since my move that I did a truly intense workout. I remember my old workouts being difficult and pushing me to the limit. When I got to Florida I gained about 25 pounds and lost my willpower to stay away from fatty foods. After my workout today I remember how I used to feel after pushing myself to the edge. This workout with Kevin was extreme and invigorating. I feel great...Really Tired! But great.

I would recommend that anyone who is in need of a solid boost in their physical fitness get into a program with Kevin. He gives personal attention to you and your form to make sure you achieve the best possible results. It was definitely worth the money and worth the drive!
Matt Juengel Fort Meyers, Florida

This mornings workout was really fun and dirty! It started out as a nice car ride by the beach and turned into a hell of a workout by the gulf while we were crawling through the sand! Even though it was hard, it was neat to see the dolphins swimming in the water right next to us! The change in scenery has been very motivating! We had more free time today which was nice since the sun finally peeked through...I finally have a tan! We had our grocery outing yesterday and it was really eye opening to see some of the nutritional information. It's very interesting to see what we put into our bodies without realizing it can be what's holding us back from our goals. So far the meals here have been really healthy and delicious! We're even getting dessert every night! It's nice to see you can still eat great meals in the real world as long as you put in a little effort to prepare it! We had a guest come in tonight to join our HEAT edition...Matt Juengel. He did really well for not working out in a while. It was fun to see him and to have him join in. Even though my legs are toast and my shoulders can't move without pain, I'm still having a blast while learning alot about diet, exercise and myself! --JG

So despite the huge birds on the beach, the tomato looking skin and the aching body the trip thus far has been fun and exciting. This morning our workout was awesome, because the dolphins were frolicking as we were pushed to the max during our morning workout. What an awesome experience!!!!!! We did make new friends at the pool and our friend Delores at the local grocery! As a little treat Shelia came to the condo and gave us each a 1/2 hour massage which felt awesome after our workouts. The meals have been awesome and today we had BBQ chicken pizza and I made an attempt to try Jess Greens tilapia with mango salsa. It was very good and I recommend it to everyone to try! Well I am having an awesome time and I am learning tons of information about my body and how to use this info in the real world when I return to OHIO( BOO). I hope all is well and the weather is great even though you are not at the beach!:) JA

DAY FOUR INTERNET TESTIMONIALS
WATER WORKOUTS = WASHBOARD ABS!

Day Four was a day of serious change for the BodyScience team. They had their workouts switched up, discussed goals for the next six months out loud, and really tied it all together. Tomorrow will be the conclusion of this experiment, but the changes don't stop when they board the plane. They will finalize their goals and set the plan into motion with some guidance. Then they will be subject to weekly assessments, extra motivation and pushing. They may want to kill me but I do feel that all their goals will be met. Today the BodySciencers actually were able to sleep in a bit after 3 grueling days. I felt that the needed to rest those bodies. The workouts were vastly different today as well, beginning our day with a Power Core Abdominal Session, which fully engaged the trunk and all areas of the abdominals. Then they were put through a rigorous pool water workout. This may have been one of the hardest workouts they have endured. They may have thought about senior citizens with ankle weights doing Jane Fonda in the 1980's, but they found out they were sadly mistaken. They had no idea how much resistance there can be with water, even shallow water. It was tough and they struggled but did well. You can even sweat gallons in the pool. Then I turned the reigns over to Jessi to lead the Beach Bootcamp tonight. I worked into the session and it was tough! I really have to say that it was a paybacks -are -hell type of situation. They liked seeing me suffer! In the end we all did well and completed it without vomiting. It was really nice because we had a windy night which took the edge off and dried some of the sweat. Tough day. Big goals. And one day left. I really hope that one day every one of you can experience this event, because it will change you in more ways than you can possibly know. Scroll down for some candid photos from today at BodyScience...
Stay Strong,
Kevin

COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS RECEIVED FROM CLIENTS AND FRIENDS TO BODYSCIENERS...

Kevin:
We're sooo glad to have you and your entire BodyScience class at the Boardwalk! It is sooo unfortunate that all of you have had to deal with our most recent Tropical Storm! I know that the participants in your October class will enjoy our wonderful weather much better at that time frame. Jan Lee Manager The Boardwalk, Englewood Florida

It sounds tiresome and awesome at the same time. I hope the storms stay clear for you guys to. So was the trip from the airport to the condo difficult. So how many trips did it take to fill a bucket of water with the washcloths. Thanks for the update Jess. KICK SOME BUTT THERE. TT, Dayton Ohio

Jess, glad to hear everything is going great, can't wait to see what new thing you will teach me. Sounds like everyone is learning alot. And the view is wonderful. Miss working out. See you soon. Tina, Dayton Ohio

o.k. Jessie....sounds like you are going to have to share the tilapia dish with the Sidney girls. Hang in there! It sounds like everyone is doing great and working their butts off....literally! Lisa Beigel Sidney Ohio

Sounds challenging but fun there. Proud to see you ate fish! Kim Grant Dayton Ohio

HERE IS THE DIRT FROM THE BEACH

We finally had the opportunity to sleep in today. Our morning Power Core workout was intense but fun. We were right by the beach listening to the waves the whole time. After our free time (which I spent soaking up the sun with dolphins playing in the 5 foot waves) we had our water workout. It was BY FAR the hardest thing I've had to do yet. I thought I was going to die. Just when I thought my body and mind couldn't take anymore, Kev pushed us even harder. It was very difficult but I'm happy I completed it. Our goal setting workshop was extremely difficult for me this time around. I already know what I need to do when I get back into the real world to obtain my goals.
On another note...For all you clients that wish harm on Kevin....I had an extremely fun time torturing him during the bootcamp class I taught. I even let Jess Alt sit out the last 15 mins just so she could watch him suffer! Jess Alt is doing an awesome job down here. I can already tell a difference in her body and attitude! Thanks for all the comments, It really motivates me knowing you're all so supportive! JG

DAY FIVE INTERNET TESTIMONIALS
ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END

Today is the conclusion of this edition of BodyScience, and it has all gone by so fast. There was so much crammed into this 5-day retreat that it just seems like yesterday that we began, but in retrospect it may feel like a month ago for all involved. It was exhausting, enlightening, fun and exciting. I feel that the participants are depressed to leave this awesome place behind, but excited to get home into the real world and begin applying everything they've learned. Today at dawn it was pouring buckets of rain, and really windy, but that didn't stop us. We pressed on, doing our boot camp workout in what seemed like a monsoon. The BodySciencers are physically and mentally spent. This project can be very draining. They worked to complete fatigue and they now know how far they can push themselves. Then we had stretching and flexibility course to make our anatomy more pliable. The sun is shining and it is 90 degrees outside, but with the windy conditions, it is very t olerable. Our final calorie- busting session before sending them home on a plane was a power walk down the beach for about 3 miles. It was good to bring them down a bit, while still increasing the heart rate. This allowed them to vent and breathe, knowing that the event has reached it's end. We then finalized our goals and aspirations for the next 6 months. The final assessment on the participants revealed that they lost almost 19 inches from their bodies over the course of 4.5 days. That is insane, and just shows you how hard they worked. I know that they will get where they want. They are a very determined group. I am sad to see this edition and group leave, but it is time to get home and resume my reign of terror on all my clients. I missed the ones who weren't able to join us. So hopefully this group really helped give you the inside track on what they've experienced. I can say that I've learned from them, and hope you did too. This chapter closes, but another one will o pen very soon...there will be another edition of BodyScience FLORIDA sometime in October! Now you too can experience what you've imagined all week. Now live it. I will have more details very soon... So tomorrow I am taking a day off to lay on the beach and decompress, but I will see you all next week. Thanks for the support and ask yourself, do you eat to live, or do you live to eat?
Stay Strong,
Kevin

HERE IS THE DIRT FROM THE BEACH:

I am very sad to see this retreat come to an end. As many of you know, I'm a repeat offender. This was by far the hardest one yet! The beautiful ocean background helped me through my extreme workouts. Even though it was mentally and physically challenging, I'm happy I came. This was a huge eye-opener for me. I am ready to get home and apply what I've learned here. I know my journey won't stop here. Thanks for all of your support from Ohio! I miss you all!!! I can't wait to come home a share all of my experiences with all of you! --JG

Well today was a very hard workout but only because of the extreme exhaustion of my muscles. I am very sad for the retreat to end, because I am having so much fun and learning tons of new information. I am excited to go home and apply the information to life in the "real world". I know that the pain was all worth it because in five days I lost 14 inches which is so awesome and excited to hear!!!!!!! Kevin is a great trainer and I would recommend everyone to partake in body science. It is life changing and I will continue to keep changing and dropping more inches!!!!!!~ JA
